The Main Street Electrical Parade is Coming Home to Disneyland! As fans of all that is Disney, my family and I are beyond excited to hear the news! First appearing at Disneyland on June 17, 1972, the parade quickly became a guest favorite until its final trip down Main Street on November 25, 1996. The Main Street Electrical Parade was one of the highlights of a trip to Disneyland as a kid and later as a young adult and parent not only for myself and family but for the thousands of visitors to the parks. Nothing said Disneyland to me and my family like securing our spot by the Matterhorn and watching the parade.
After ending its performance at Disneyland in 1972, The Main Street Electrical Parade, returned to Disney's California Adventure for a brief run from July 3, 2001 to April 18, 2010 with a name change to "Disney's Electrical Parade".
On a recent trips to Walt Disney World over the last few years, we had the opportunity to enjoy the parade. In fact last December our week long trip included 6 different viewings and became a nightly tradition which included funnel cake and hot chocolate! If you are a Walt Disney World regular or will be visiting soon, don't miss it. The last parade will float by on October 9, 2016.
At this time it seems the return home may only be temporary and not until 2017, but we will take what we can when it comes to Disney's The Main Street Electrical Parade!
