Opening Dates for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Announced!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening dates for Disneyland and Walt Disney World have been officially announced this morning.

The Summer of 2019 will be one to remember in the Disney History forever. Disneyland will start guests off with the opening of phase one on May 31st. Walt Disney World will join in at the end of summer with an August 29th opening.

The new land inspired by the Star Wars films, transports guests onto the planet of Batuu. Once inside, guests can pilot the Millennium Falcon and live out their Star Wars adventures. Opening days at will be conducted in two phases with the first phase including only one of the two attractions, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, The second attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will open at a later date.

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is expected to bring in record crowds of visitors to both parks this summer. To enable guests to access the new land, Disney Parks will implement certain policies and restrictions to access. Below are the details for each part.

Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge:

During Phase one on opening day, guests can visit Batuu where they will enjoy galactic food and drinks, shop the new merchant stores for the perfect souvenir and board the famous Millennium Falcon. Visitors to Disneyland from May 31st to June 23rd, will require a NO additional cost reservation to access the land, (subject to availability) along with the park admission. Specific details will be available on Disneyland.com and the Disney Parks Blog. Guests with reservations at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels during May 31st through June 23rd will receive an automatic reservation - one per registered guest - along with your valid theme park admission tickets.

Phase two at Disneyland will include the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, an immersive attraction that will put guests into the middle of the battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Due to the expected popularity of Galaxy's Edge, will not be included in Extra Magic Hours or Magic Mornings at Disneyland. Disney MaxPass will not be offered initially in an effort to provide more guests with the opportunity to visit the new land.

Walt Disney World's Galaxy's Edge:

Hollywood Studios on August 29th will open its doors with limited access to the land, but unlike Disneyland will NOT require advance reservation. Galaxy's Edge will open during Extra Magic Hours giving guests staying at select resorts the chance to experience the land. However, Disney Fast Pass+ will not be initially available at WDW.

Galaxy's Edge will bring visitors to the parks this summer like never before. Resort reservations are already booking up faster than ever. Don't miss out on the summer's biggest adventures.
