Guests visiting select Walt Disney World Resorts have the opportunity to add some Free Fun to their vacation while participating in an activity, many of us have done for years.
Checking into value resorts in the last few days, guests have been provided with the choice of receiving a $20 gift card per room per day in exchange for bypassing housekeeping services.
The room would still qualify for toiletries and fresh towels, but would not have the basic services of linen changes, cleaning and trash disposal.
For years, I have bypassed some of the housekeeping services, when traveling. To contribute in alleviating the already busy schedule of the housekeeping staff, I have been known to skip the services for days depending on the length of stay. I have instead emptied my own trash and ensured the basic upkeep of the room, giving housekeeping staff extra time to deal with other rooms that may require their attention.
While I would greatly miss the special details (towel animals) and amazing job housekeeping performs, I am in favor of this test and hope it is implemented as a regular option.
